JSE Workshop – Gunmaking in the heart of Vienna

Joh. Springer’s Erben has manufactured more than 10.600 custom guns throughout its 180 years of existence. Many celebrities, among others Kaiser Franz Joseph I. and Kaiser Wilhelm II., had a “JSE -Rifle”.

Tradition with centuries of experience

The original built Mauser 98 rifles are safe, easy to handle and stylishly elegant. Precision and durability are the special traits of these unique rifles.

All rifles are exclusively produced in Vienna, Austria.

Joh. Springer’s Erben uses only original parts or highly professional remakes from Austrian and German origin. The gunstock blanks come from hand-picked long-time suppliers from all over the world (e.g. Turkish walnut wood).

The Creation of a manufactured weapon

Our gunsmiths will produce the elegant version without special engravings within one year for you, if we are not able to present you a suitable model yet.

The project is planned together with the customer and consists design and style questions, engraving discussions and tests. The central location in Vienna makes it easier for international customers.

In addition to our gunsmiths Christian Johann Springer also looks after the state of production several times a week.

For special / custom engraving wishes there are also highly professional European Engravers at our disposal.

We start building every JSE gun from the shaft

The gunstock blank is derived from handpicked longtime suppliers from around the world (e.g. Turkish walnut wood).

Working the Steel

The JSE actions are precisely cut from a solid steel ingot, then hand-filed to achieve a precise fit before being given the final polish and burnishing prior to engraving.

Your desired theme will be brought to life by our master engravers. Whether regular or fine deep engravings, with gold or silver inlay, there are no limits to your imagination.
