Christian Johann Springer is a businessman and master gunsmith with a passion for hunting. He has managed the company since 2008. Among many other topics his focus is predominantly on key customers, suppliers and corporations. Michael Schäffel bought his first .357 Magnum about 30 years ago from Joh. Springer’s heirs. After many years in management in well-known companies in Germany and abroad, he has now returned to his old passion. He patiently accompanied beginners, has one or the other good tip ready for professionals, and advises you professionally on the purchase of your new gun.

Peter Tobler joined Joh. Springer‘s Erben as Head of Auctions in the fall of 2021. Mr. Tobler has been in managerial role in several internationally active trading companies. As a competition-experienced sport shooter paired with a preference for modern and domestic products, he combines sales experience with a passion for our auction items. Overall responsible for the auction house, Mr. Tobler’s focus is absolutely on the contact and exchange with our customers and contributors.

Bernhard Siller is your expert for the appraisal and valuation of auction objects. In addition he is responsible for the coordination and planning of our actions. As an enthusiastic hunter and marksman, he offers valuable practical know-how. These skills and his administrative knowledge makes him to the perfect deputy of Peter Tobler.

Josef Mötz is a lawyer, reserve officer and internationally renowned expert for handguns and military weapons. He has been active in the study of weapons and ammunition for 45 years, has been one of the most productive Austrian authors in the field of law, weapons and ammunition history and technological development since 1979 and publishes in renowned weapons journals. At Joh. Springer’s Erben, he is our expert for the valuation and cataloguing of handguns and militaria.

Lucas Wininger has worked for the company since 2014 as a weapons and ammunition dealer and completed his apprenticeship in our flagship store in Weihburggasse. He will be happy to advise you on all questions concerning the exhibitions and general matter related to the auction.

Martin Schiffer worked in international sales in the defense sector for many years before concentrating on his passion, photography. The combination of industry knowledge and photographic expertise is the perfect prerequisite for putting our products and auction exhibits in the right light.

Raphael Rab has been working for the company as a weapons and ammunition dealer since 2018 and has been part of the auction team since 2020. He manages the weapons book, the imports and exports in the central weapons register, as well as the bringing in, picking up and free sale. In addition, he supports the team with his expertise in weapons from Napoleonic times and 1848.

Mario Glad worked for four years in Ferlach, renowned the world over for producing the finest hunting weapons. Here, he had the opportunity to gain insight into the production of fine hunting weapons, which led him to have his own workshop for several years. Now he labours in the production of hunting weapons at Joh. Springer’s Erben and helps to bring to reality the wishes of our customers.

Lukas Bubna-Litic completed his training as a gunsmith in Ferlach. After that he did his maturation. Now he has been supporting our team since May 2022 and put his theoretical knowledge into practice.
